Aimed at the budget market, the Lenovo G-series has a modest specification but is interesting in that it comes (in Malaysia where it was first launched, at least) with MS-DOS pre-installed and giving the user the option of installing Linux, Windows, OS X or any other operating system.

That modest spec is as follows:

  • Screen size: 14 inches (diagonal)
  • Processor: 1.86 GHz Pentium Dual Core
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Hard disk: 160GB
  • Optical Drive: DVD burner
  • Graphics: Intel X3100
  • Wi-Fi: 802.11g
  • Price: $613 (converted Malaysian price)
Multiple configurationes will be available in the US shortly including an Intel Centrino 2 -equipped G430 model with Core 2 Duo processors.
